The Barrier-Repair Routine
To calm and rebuild stressed skin.
If your skin is red, reactive, tight, or just overwhelmed, this routine soothes and restores it, gently.
Steps: Gentle cleanser → Soothing toner → Centella ampoule → Barrier cream → SPF
Gentle, low-pH cleanser.
- Starts the routine clean without breaking down an already-fragile barrier.
- A harsh, high-foaming or high-pH cleanser would strip the skin and undo everything that follows — so a mild, low-pH cleanser is non-negotiable here.
Soothing toner.
- A watery first layer of calm and hydration that takes down redness and preps the skin.
- It has to be soothing (not an astringent "tightening" toner), because the goal is to settle the skin, not provoke it.
Centella (cica) ampoule.
- The treatment heart of the routine — centella is known for calming irritation and supporting the barrier.
- It goes here, on prepped damp skin, so the concentrated soothing actives absorb before they're sealed in.
Rich barrier cream.
- Seals in the previous steps and rebuilds the skin's protective layer, so moisture stays in and irritants stay out.
- It needs to be a proper barrier cream, not a light gel, because repair is the whole point.
SPF (mornings).
- Compromised skin burns and reacts more easily, so sun protection is the step that stops you sliding backwards.
- Always last in the morning, every morning.
