A 96% snail mucin essence to hydrate, support the barrier, and add bounce
- Hydrates without heavy oils or clogging pores.
- Helps support an over-exfoliated or compromised barrier.
- Helps soften the look of flat acne marks and smooth uneven texture over time.
- Adds bounce and a plumper, fresher look.
Why it works
The hero is snail secretion filtrate, at a high 96.3%. It's naturally rich in glycoproteins that support the skin, hyaluronic acid that draws in and holds water, allantoin and panthenol that help the barrier recover, and a mild dose of glycolic acid that gently smooths texture and helps soften marks over time.
The high concentration is the point — it does what lighter hydrators can't. As it dries it leaves a thin, breathable film that helps lock in moisture and shield skin from external irritants, so skin ends up softer, bouncier and visibly fresher.
Key ingredients
Snail secretion filtrate 96.3% · sodium hyaluronate · panthenol · arginine · allantoin. Fragrance-free, minimal 12-ingredient formula.
Cruelty-free
COSRX is a cruelty-free brand and doesn't test on animals. The mucin is collected without harming the snails — they're left to move freely over a mesh net in a quiet, dark room, leaving the mucin behind naturally.
Skin type compatibility
- Oily & acne-prone skin: hydrates without adding oil or clogging pores.
- Dry & dehydrated skin: draws in moisture and helps clear tight, flaky patches.
- Sensitive & rosacea-prone skin: minimal, fragrance-free formula at a skin-neutral pH.
Common questions
Does it feel sticky or slimy?
It dispenses as a thick gel but melts into a light, watery fluid on contact and absorbs within about a minute, leaving a smooth, plump finish with no sticky residue.
Can it replace my moisturiser?
No. It's an essence — it draws moisture into the skin, so you need a moisturiser over it to seal that in.
Any allergy risks?
It's generally well tolerated, but anyone with a severe shellfish or dust-mite allergy could react to snail mucin. Patch-test on your inner wrist first. Results vary by person and skin type.
