Why it works

Centella asiatica — "cica" — is one of the most-studied soothing plants in skincare. It's rich in four active compounds (asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic acid and madecassic acid) that help reduce the look of irritation and support the skin's repair process.

SKIN1004 builds the ampoule around centella, with only a few supporting ingredients. The centella is sourced from Madagascar and extracted at low temperature to preserve the active plant molecules, then filtered into a simple base. It's lightweight and absorbs quickly instead of sitting on the skin.

How to use it

Cleanse and tone: wash your face and apply your favourite hydrating toner first.

The ampoule: use the built-in dropper to place 2–3 drops onto your cheeks and forehead, then gently pat across the skin with clean fingertips until fully absorbed.

Lock it in: always follow with a moisturiser to seal in the ampoule's hydration.

The centella comes from Madagascar, where the climate and soil let the plant develop a higher concentration of its active compounds than centella grown elsewhere. The plants are harvested under Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP), the standard used for medicinal and botanical crops.

From there, the extract is made at low temperature rather than with heat, because high heat degrades the active compounds the plant is valued for. It's then filtered to remove plant residue, so what ends up in the bottle is a clean, concentrated extract in a short, seven-ingredient formula.
